WAYPOINT

smart detection nodes

ITT WAYPOINT are intelligent receivers that connect TAG to the ITT SOFTWARE SUITE,
enabling real-time localization through the proprietary Dual-Range Positioning System.

Combining Close-Range precision with Wide-Area coverage, they support both access validation and large-scale tracking within a single infrastructure.

ITT WAYPOINT receiver for detecting RTLS TAGs and collecting real-time positioning and signal data

Powered by patented triangulation technology, WAYPOINT collect field data, propagate communications, and provide the information required for accurate positioning. Designed for industrial, maritime, metal structures, and multi-level environments, they deliver high accuracy, reliability, and seamless scalability.

Type of Connection

WAYPOINT can be connected using various technologies, including Ethernet networks with PoE power, RS-485 buses, dedicated field infrastructures, or wireless mesh networks. This flexibility allows the system to be adapted to the characteristics of the existing environment and, where possible, to reuse existing infrastructure.

The MESH SPANNING TREE
architecture developed for ITT is particularly important. Each WAYPOINT maintains the optimal routing path for information to reach the central server and knows how to correctly propagate the data across the network. This approach ensures high reliability, fault tolerance, scalability, and ease of expansion, proving particularly effective in complex industrial plants, naval installations, and sites spread across multiple buildings.

Close & Wide Range

WAYPOINT use dual-range positioning combining close-range detection for precise, point-level identification (e.g. entry/exit validation) and wide-area coverage for continuous tracking over large spaces, seamlessly integrating both to deliver accurate, real-time localization across complex environments.

CLOSE RANGE

8 meters range

CLOSE RANGE

It operates at 125 kHz Low Frequency, a signal that is not shielded by the human body or the orientation of the device. It acts within a restricted and defined radius range up to 8 m and can use an optional perimeter cable to create "virtual fences" or define exact physical gates. Ideal for precise entry and exit detection in rooms and confined spaces.

wide range

20 to 50 meters range

WIDE RANGE

It operates in the 868 MHz UHF band, ideal for complex industrial and naval environments. Coverage can reach up to 50 metres radius ranging in open areas, while it may be reduced to around 20 metres in the presence of concrete walls, metal structures or other significant physical obstacles. It supports a very high density of devices, managing over 1,000 TAG per receiver.

Easy to install and requiring no specialized Skills, ITT WAYPOINT minimize deployment cost through a hybrid wired and wireless architecture. The self-forming mesh network, based on spanning-tree principles, enables rapid infrastructure expansion while reducing cabling requirements and installation time.

PERIMETER WIRED TECHNOLOGY allows precise detection of TAG presence within defined areas such as offices, laboratories, warehouses, production cells, fenced zones, gates, restricted areas, parking areas, and access-controlled environments.

The Perimeter Wire consists of a simple small cable installed along the boundary of the areas to be monitored.
